have a laugh
I woke up at 5:45 and immediately checked the school closings. Sadly my school's name did not make the list. I checked a 2nd time and the school was still not listed; I wasn't surprised. I then started out on my hour long journey to New Era, listening to Harry Potter along the way. I pulled into the very vacant lot thinking... (in a British accent because of all of the HP) "This cannot be!" I checked the door... Locked! Stepped back into my car and checked the closings for the 3rd time and there it was, like magic before my eyes... "NCS closed!" Happy Snow Day indeed!

thankfulness
i'm filled up with an overwhelming sense of happiness today, i can't explain it, but i am definitely thankful for it.
things that are contributing to my happiness:
-my warm cup of coffee
-the smell of my eucalyptus spearmint candle
-getting my laundry done & fresh-out-of-the-dryer sheets
-finishing my journal & being able to buy a new one (re-reading old journal entries & seeing where i've grown & how god has answered prayers)
-good music playing on the 'mumford & sons' pandora station
-catching up with my dear friend, ms. ashley verville

lists
i have a lot to be thankful for and even more things to smile about. i'm going to list a few things that fall under those two categories rather than write about them in detail. lame, i know, but don't we all resort to blog style list making every now and again!?
1. Dead Man's Bones I cannot get enough. This is the perfect music for autumn. (ryan gosling isn't too bad on the eyes either.)

2. Grapefruit Body Butter from the Body Shop - A very sweet gift received in the mail today from an even sweeter friend (Ms. Stevie Parker) from Chicago.
3. Multiple weekends in a row spent with good friends. Celebrating new marriages, birthdays, and new life directions.
Amanda & Mile's Wedding
Dean's Going away party
4. Following through on a daily routine of bible reading, writing, exercise, reading for pleasure, and the like. Two thumbs up for heading down a road of "mind, body, soul" wholeness.
5.New frames
Cheers!

an afternoon of bottomless coffee
in my opinion, there is nothing more sweetly satisfying than sharing a pot of coffee with a dear friend. it's simple, but that warm cup of joe you're holding onto in your hands is also simultaneously warming your heart. the conversation you're having with this dear one is rich, and like the caffeine, leaves you feeling lifted for the rest of the day.
i'm thankful for you, nancy. thanks for spending time with me today.

let's dance
i've never been the type of girl who plans out every detail of her wedding or picks out her baby names years in advanced (i may have one name in mind, but that's not the point) but... we all have our moments. on my drive home yesterday i was listening to "in my life" and i fell in love with their lyrics all over again. when the song came to a finish, i found myself creating a wedding playlist in my head. i hope you like these songs as much as i do.
here are a few that made the cut:
number one: "in my life", the beatles
number two: "you make me feel like dancing", leo sayer
number three: "you make me feel so young", frank sinatra
